Quiet Magic

Feelings, captured in paint.

Radiance — original painting by Jade Boswell

Not all feelings are straightforward, or easy to name. Some will arrive (loud and insistent) and some will niggle you for weeks before they out. For me the only way through is to paint so I can make sense of it.

The Quiet Magic pieces don't follow a brief or a colour story. I put some music on and with no fixed outcome or thread connecting them to anything else, I experiment until I think I have worked it out. Each one is completely its own thing. There is no unifying palette or subject here, it tends to be whatever needed to come out that day.

These are the paintings that can just feel it. They don't necessarily have a beginning or an end. Instead it is more about not needing to have an explanation in words to feel it. Rather, I have expressed it through the medium of paint instead.
