Artist Statement
Jade Boswell is a UK-based abstract painter working predominantly with acrylics. She creates layered, textured work that is rooted in the emotional weight of place (sometimes real, sometimes imagined), playing with time, light and the feelings that don't always have a name as inspiration.
Her work always starts with the same impulse: holding onto something that would otherwise pass without pause, or to make sense of something that needed to come out. Built up slowly in layers of bold colour and texture, each piece settles into its own feeling rather than a fixed destination.
She came back to painting as an adult and hasn't been able to stop since. Her work is made slowly, without trend, for walls that deserve more than a print from a catalogue. Based on the Essex/Cambridgeshire border. Exhibiting across Cambridge and London since 2025.
