Sundowner

That last hour of light before the day lets go. Sundowner was painted from a feeling more than a reference point. It makes you feel the warmth of a summer evening when the horizon catches fire and everything else quiets down. Deep purples, burnt umber, a band of gold that flat out refuses to let go. The heat of the day is still thick in the air but the night is rolling in fast with its cooling hand. Built up in layers of bold acrylic with thick texture that catches the light differently depending on where you stand. Framed in a slim metallic gold floating frame.

A quick note on size, because I want you to have the right thing. A painting that looks generous on your phone can look a bit apologetic over a sofa (or the other way round). If you're unsure, send me a photo of where you want it to go and I'll help you work it out. Reach out here to get started.

I'm Jade, and I paint on the Essex/Cambridgeshire border. Every piece starts with slowing down and sitting with a feeling or a memory. Then I build up layers of texture and colour until the light feels right. More about me here.
